One of the first things that we notice when we visit a website is its colour palette. This can be a subconscious realization when the colours are subtle, or very noticeable when the shades are bold or jarring. While many website colours are chosen based on the personal aesthetics of the client or the web designer, choosing the most effective colours involves more thought than this.

If you think that an attractive looking website is the hallmark of a good design, prepare to be surprised! While an aesthetically pleasing website is an attribute of a good website design, it is not the key feature. Don’t jeopardise your website’s success by misunderstanding its design.

Monitoring visits from search engines often brings up strange results. The other day, someone visited the free WordPress template offered on this site from the Bolivian country directory of Google (www.google.com.bo). Nothing strange in that, but the keyword they searched for was “power”. On replicating the search, it turns out that the Real Free Website page is the first result!
